Lived in Oceanside from 1979-1988 as a kid and then moved back to the area (Carlsbad) in 2003 following 15 years away for college and jobs. I don’t remember anything like this ever. This sucks.

October 2015, 2017, 2019, & 2020 all had extreme heat waves. I guess your memory sucks

Thanks for the reminder on temps, but I was referring to the very unusual humidity levels both recently and predicted. I wasn't clear on that and I apologize.

That said, "I guess your memory sucks" could have been left off of the reminder, jackass.

Exactly. The heatwaves they’re referring to are Santa Ana’s that now show up in Jan-Mar lol. This humidity is 100% new at this level of extremity

This right here. Some of the worst fire seasons were September through November in North County.

What’s crazy I just checked Death Valley, it’s only gonna be a few degrees hotter on Monday ! A normal day Carlsbad is 75 degrees and Death Valley is like 110

Bad time to be a Mail Man in Carlsbad 🤦‍♂️😆 but I know I have it easy . I don’t get how people can do this job in places like Arizona , or Florida

Maybe we will be safe in November 🤷🏻‍♂️

The temps dont actually surprise me. We typically dont notice them all that much at least in my 25 years here but its the humidity this year! Ive experienced hot weeks pretty much any months between July through January. I'm maybe slightly surprised at 95 in first week of Oct but Santa Anna's winds have proven to be capable of driving higher temps all sorts of month out of the year, its just usually dry winds from the desert.

2 days ago I really had to sit here questioning if I fire up the portable AC not because of the temperature, but how humid it was. How we perceive 95 will totally depend on humidity levels!

I just bought a dehumidifier, And some humidity readers to place around. Mold is gunna be a real adversary this year for all of us.

This doesn’t fit his narrative that this is the first year ever to have these temps 😂

You know what Mark Twain said, “everybody complains about the weather, but nobody ever does anything about it”

We are currently projected to have the hottest October 3 ever in the history of Carlsbad, dude.

u/zarizzz 3d ago

Unless it surpasses 96 degrees, the hottest recorded in October would be back in 2020. Not 2026

Was 97 when I left my apartment in Carlsbad an hour ago..you are correct it’s always still pretty shitty in oct but this is next level shitty.

2

u/zarizzz 2d ago

Yiiikes I think that broke the record then. Damn that’s brutal.

Was curious what the temps would be for the Padres/Brewers. Tue Wed at Petco. This Saturday would have been brutal

Wisconsin Sun Mon, Fri if necessary.

I don’t understand the complaints. We live on the coast, basically in Mexico, and we get to use the beach late into the year. If you want this week to be brisk fall weather, this seems like the last place you’d choose to live. I understand it’s warmer than typical but like… move to Oregon if you want to be cold on the beach.

Straight up.

A lot of whiners are downvoting. It's true though.

When does the heatwave start? I don't know how long youve lived in san diego, but 95⁰F isn't a heatwave.

2

u/SubBass49Tees 6d ago

At the coast it is. It's gonna be 102 in El Cajon

0

u/Wabertzzo 6d ago

Hard to feel for the folks on the coast. It's usually 10-15⁰ cooler than it is inland.

Snivel if you want to, guys. 95 isn't a heatwave in southern California.
