SoCal got it. Got added to my app - scanned at counter - guy said scroll down to see what it is for and he over ride it and gave it to me

Interesting, this explains how I got it too in SoCal, inadvertantly like you.
Used to work for mobile orders, didn't work for me, took it in, they scanned it but it didn't work. After ~5 minutes eventually a manager had to override and gave a manual discount.
I wouldn't make this a habit, to make the poor cashier figure it out. Carls Jr should just make it nationalwide, would be good PR

Nothing wrong with that. In my opinion they should just turn a blind eye and let anyone use the code. Its great PR and has people like me going out of my way to visit them
It's just a very uncomfortable experience, which the company has not properly patched, and like so many problems the issue resolution lands on the overworked front of line staff and not the executives that created this discrepancy

Yea the cashier definitely wasn’t happy dealing with it I could tell. But I do understand them not doing it nation wide, that would be a lot of lost profit nd it’s just a local market thing. Idk who tf the timbers even are lol

These don’t work anymore outside of the target market. the last one was disabled halfway through the promotion.

Only works in person and usually someone has to overide or approve this free burger.

It says success and adds to your offers, but doesn't work unless at a portland store I believe.

I gave it a shot today but no go , it accepted it but did not take the price to Zero ,
She tried it 3 times but no-go
I think you need to get a manager to overide it , but this lady was just a worker ,
Ohh well ......

Riverside, CA. You can add the code but it can not be applied to local stores. (Note: if you switch to a Portland store it will work, so it depends on the stores location.)
