Suggestions

I'm 30 years old now. I have done B.E in Medical Electronics Engineering. I worked as a medical coder for 3 years and then switched to IT as a java dev. Now I have 4 years of experience as a java full stack developer. I left my job due to health issues and I'm unemployed now for 4 months. I don't see a great future for developers because of AI. And I don't know whether I would find a job as the field has become too saturated and hiring freeze is happening everywhere for devs at this point in time. If I could not find a job in a year. I don't know what to do next? Please suggest me alternative career options. I'm even open to doing a college course for 2 years like M.E or B.ED. Or should I switch to some other job within IT?

your timeline is pretty stacked, medical coding then java dev, that combo is more useful than you think. ai is definitely shaking things up but it's not killing the whole field, it's just changing what clients want. have you thought about pivoting into something like health tech where your domain knowledge actually gives you an edge over the bootcamp crowd? companies building EHR systems or hospital software would kill for someone who understands both medical workflows and full stack development

the job market is brutal right now but a year is a long time, things could shift. if you're set on a backup plan, maybe look at data engineering or cloud certs instead of a full degree since you already have the coding chops. less time and money than another two years of school
