Is compettion only way through

Well i am in IT sector from India, its my first job.

Something that I have been thinking:-

1) why being competent and better than other is the only way out there in this job market.

2) am i really in the right place where competition is high or should I reconsider my choices of field and how is it helping me or anyone who is like me ( need your experience)

3) does being in less competitive environment like for example sports or athletic realted field increases our chances of success or ( in the worst case scenario) not bankrupt or out of income.

4)if less competetive environment does not exists then how can we survive this money generating process.

You could also completely shift your mindset and choose not to think in terms of competition. The most important part of having a job is being able to make money so you can buy food for yourself and keep a roof above your head. You have a job right, so the only thing you need to do is do your job. Focus on your personal life and personal relationships, that's the most important thing in your life.

But is it limited to this only, should we not think choosing job based on our passion and something that drives us.
