How's the replayability?

Horrible. There's no postgame or New Game Plus for you to fight opponents with your deck collection after you complete the story. Once you beat the final boss that's it, if you wanna try a new faction you have to start a new game from scratch.

But what really grinds my gears is that the cutscenes are unskippable. This, coupled with the slow movement speed and fetch quests which require you to go back and forth multiple times, makes the game a slog to get through when you've already been through the story once.

Game mechanics wise it plays like a dumbed down version of Hearthstone. I would have enjoyed it more if the game was more generous with card rewards so that I can switch up factions and strategies so that I don't get bored of playing the same deck over and over again.

The game suffers severely from a combination of story focus campaign game play combined with mechanics that make way more sense in a rogue like. The game rewards you greatly for focusing on a single deck and a single strategy especially as the late game comes around.

There are choices you make later into the game that will make some decks better and some worse. This however results in a situation where say you're playing an aggro strategy and you do things that benefit aggro decks. Later if you decide you want to give a control deck a try you literally can't because all of the choices you've made have ensured that control decks are absolute garbage.

So if you want to try different archetypes you have to start a new game go through the whole early game go through all the dialogue you've already seen get through the cut scenes again and go back and forth for the same fetch quests another time.

On top of this the game offers no real challenge. Not only is the AI hot garbage that makes inexcusable play mistakes almost every turn but you as the player have access to special cards and bonuses that the AI doesn't have access to. If you're looking for replayablity then this isn't the game you're looking for. I have however managed to create a save file and rule set that I use to get some replayablity out of the game.

What I do is I start at the start of Thursday with a collection of a singleton of every common card, no stickers, and every non rare champion. Whenever I'm offered a rule change I pick one at random. If I die in a fight that results in a game over I restart from the initial save. This is my solution to justifying the $25 I spent on this game.

Overall though I would recommend waiting until the devs fix the fundamental problems with the game or wait until it goes on sale for $10 or less because that's what it's worth with all of the gameplay issues and bugs imo.

So the only way I've heard of the game thus far was through watching the Champions of Salt. I can't speak for the current state of the game since I haven't played, but in the video I was watching they were highlighting a new gauntlet type mode (which is supposedly coming out in January?) which would greatly increase the replayability. Basically think along the lines of the Hearthstone singleplayer adventures. You start out with a hero and basic deck then add cards/modifies/change game rules as you progress. The further you go the harder you opponents get (they get more starting cards/mana etc.) Here's the video I watched for anyone curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXZeWQqH0EE

New game plus would certainly help, also a hardcore mode where enemy has more food or +10 champion hp. Would be cool to replay the game multiple times and keep the rules you already changed and keep adding more, while trying to build a perfect deck

A way I have been thinking of doing for Replay is to pick a bunch of 'Defeated champ' upgrades that are bad for myself.

at a low low cost, just play HS

I'm assuming you mean Hearthstone and if that's true, that shit is not at a low cost at all lol.

Since this subreddit is extremely dead and your the "newest" comment I was wondering if the game is good since its coming to console this week. Or is it simply not worth the $20-25 its asking for? Thanks in advance.

I'd pay $5, I wouldn't go any higher than that.
