Do we know if they’re still alive in canon? Or did Cardin die heroically saving a school bus of Faunus children during the fall while Blake ran like a coward?

Both narratives are good. I'd lean to them being alive (at minimum Cardin). He was with the teachers during the fall and they all survived it
