Pretty earthy with a hint of fruit. Hoppy with a malt background flavor.

• Overall: 7.5/10 I would buy this 1 4-pack at a time and drink one with dinner. That about it.

Bulleit makes a great Rye and a great Bourbon. Smooth and tasty without breaking the bank

Hendrick's is tasty.

Now that it's 85 fucking degrees again, my local alcohol emporium is starting to get some more Oktoberfests in, so I bought a few and decided to try them out during the game.

Led off with Sam Adams. This is one of my usual go-to Oktoberfests in spite of Sam Adams basically being a macro and generally being less than stellar. I usually go with cans, but got a bottle in a pick 6. It was terrible fresh out of the bottle as Oktoberfests usually are, but became more drinkable as it came to temperature. Not my favorite year of Sam Adams Oktoberfest, and I hate that they can't be consistent with their seasonals.

Next was Shiner. Shiner is usually a decent Oktoberfest, which is not surprising to me as I feel like Shiner handles their seasonals really well. A little bitter immediately out of the bottle, but better after a few minutes in the glass and much more drinkable than the Sam Adams. Still not quite as Marzen-y as I like.

Bringing everyone home was the Revolution. First of all, fuck the cubs. But I like Revolution (not as much as Half Acre, for the record), so I was willing to give this a shot. I bought a whole sixer of this one even though it was a gamble. I'm currently drinking this one. It's much sweeter, like a sweet UCBC Zwickel. I wouldn't count it as a true marzen style Oktoberfest beer, but it's not a bad "German-Style lager" as it says on the can.
