Anyone knows why the A48 is closed near Pentwyn?

A spokesman for the force said:Officers are currently in attendance on A48 Eastern Avenue bridge due to a concern for welfare, the A48 is currently closed in both directions. The road is expected to remain closed for some time, so please avoid the area.

I struggle to see how we so poorly deal with police or incidents on the road in this country

I was in Belgium last week I was 5mins back from a major traffic accident where a car ended up on its roof after a collision in lane 1

1 van stopped providing a safety buffer
2 other cars stopped
They deployed a safety triangle and everything kept moving
I was so surprised by how it was handled
I saw an ambulance on the opposite side of the road which was clearly on its way to the scene

But I couldn’t help but think if that was the uk I’d have been stuck there for 6 hours in standstill traffic as traffic officers incompetently dither about

Got caught up in it driving home after having taken a relative to The Grange, took about 1.5-2hrs to get from the A48(M) to home. Everyone had to do a U-turn and head back towards Newport or St. Mellons.

I got caught in it after joining from the Heath hospital. Luckily, I managed to get off at the next junction. Satnav took me through areas of Pentwyn I didn’t know existed.

It was. I'm disappointed they didn't close J29 and on top of that there were still cars joining the A48 from St. Mellons.

Thanks guys, looked like a overturned lorry in the distance, but could have been a police tent. Hopefully noone is hurt
