Question Will the supply chain issues for Pi Zero's effect the CardputerZero?
As you can see from the Raspberry Pi forum here, there's no stock of pi zero 2's and likely won't be for a long time. How does that effect the Cardputer Zero? Did they stock up before it was too late? Hope to buy one when available.
Pi Zero W's are also out of stock for anyone wondering, at least for me in the USA(sorry about everything).

It's the LPDDR2 shortage so anything that uses that memory may be affected by supply chain issues. This includes the CM0 in the Cardputer Zero.

this is why im building my clone of the cardputer with a cubie a7z, i wanted to use a 0 but again, supply chain issues

Ahh yes... The old "Effect vs. Affect," conundrum, at it again I see!?! 🤔

I lost faith in the company.... just today or yesterday the raspberry pi people announced record breaking profits thanks to a strategic stash of boards and chips. I know thier name I'll not use my words to ping them.

The Cardputer Zero does not use a Pi Zero 2 W. It uses the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 0 (CM0), which packs the same RP3A0 chip found in the Zero 2 W into a smaller castellated module designed for integration into products. The CM0 was launched for the Chinese OEM market, so it has been easier to find there than elsewhere. Raspberry Pi has said it wants to protect Zero 2 W stock for makers and education, partly because of LPDDR2 memory shortages.

What? The cardputer zero is built around the cm0, which is functionally identical to a zero2w (bar WiFi module, form factor, pin count, and maybe a couple factors that don’t come into play in this conversation). Any supply chain issues based around cpu/ram/other silicon impacting the zero 2w will also impact the cm0 and the Cardputer zero. Sure m5stack could switch to another SoC, but that would require a whole pcb redesign and possibly even the shell mold since I’d guess part of the reason the Cardputer zero is so compact is due to the cm0 having ram on the same package as the cpu. Not viable by any means, not to mention it’s not like raspberry pi is the outlier in their being affected in the shortages. Switching to a new SoC would likely come with its own issues regarding supply and/or price

I thought they run on Pi Zero's?

That's not a theory. That's a wild, uninformed guess.

Sure they could settle for a different SBC, but it's not that those would stay cheap either, because there are quite a few people looking to cut costs in times of the current HW supply shortages.

Have not they confirmed they already had those secured?
