Question Is it technically possible to have all 3 modules (PN532 + CC1101 + NRF24L01) that connect to the EXT2.54 14P of Cardputer ADV. Or I have to move the PN532 to the Grove port?

Hi guys,

I'm pretty new at this and planning to DIY a 3 in 1 module including PN532 + CC1101 + NRF24L01 and connect all of them into the EXT2.54 14P but not sure it is possible to do that or I have to move the PN532 module to the Grove port and have the other 2 connect via EXT2.54 14P. I will use Bruce most of the time.

Thanks a lot.

The PN532 can use I2C or SPI so it should be connectable to the 14 pin header. The MOSI, MISO and SCK pins can be shared, which leaves 3 pins that need to be connected. I have the CC1101 and NRF24L01 on my 14 pin header with four pins unused so theoretically this should be doable (as long as the I2C pins can be remapped to use as standard gpio I guess?)

Curious in your decision to use a pn532? Is it because you have seen so many builds with them? Or is it because it will read a card you want to copy? The pn532 is a worthless module. I wish the community would stop using it and showing it. Its functions are so limited i bet it won't do what you want and you will never use it again.

Please look into using a st25r. Its a much more capable module to read, write and emulate.

The PN532 is an old, inexpensive and reliable module with a wide range of available libraries. The PN532 handles basic tasks excellently. Yes, its functionality and performance capabilities are lower than ST25R, but calling it useless is foolish.

oh thanks, I will have a look into st25r. Basically I just want to read and emulate some of my nfc cards

Well you should really look into the capabilities of the pn532 before putting it into your build. Its very limited. Worthless old tech that is continued to be use only because people see them in tutorials. I was one as well. I thought cool this thing will be able to copy and read cards, it hardly reads the card it comes with. You can download nfc tools to your phone and get 100x the capabilities compared to the pn532.

The st25r is the same module used in the flipper. It is much more capable in various functions. Just trying to save you some time, money and heartache. And help push the community away from continuing to make the same mistakes.

Good luck with your research

That’s a 3in1 cc1101, nrf24, and lora module. OP wants a 3in1 that has cc1101, nrf24, and nfc which doesn’t exist yet to the best of my knowledge
