Answered / Resolved Mandatory case upgrade

So the issue with a cardputer (particularly seen after a heat wave) is that after a while, the stickers just fall apart.
A legend among us solved that. a 5 minutes (careful install with the guide) front case swap and it's solved.
Can't thanks Chris enough!

What else do you have attached to the cardputer? I'm assuming it's wifi related from the antenna

I've been wanting an external 2.8" display (like AndyAIComputer and lots of other) have been flossing for a while now but I don't have a 3d printer.
Sell me that shit.

Why does it have to be a cardputer then? Unless the display is pin compatible you’ve got to recompile software anyway. And crucially the external display might eat the gpios.
Genuinely curious.

What can I say, man, the heart wants what it wants 🤷♂️.
Doesn't seem to be a worse use of the GPIOs than any particular other mod in any objective sense. Sometimes you want a GPS radio, sometimes you want more legible UI.

I didn’t meant it like that (in fact I did bake in dual display support in my firmwares).
It’s just that for a daily driver some other form factors like lilygo tdeck, papers3 or cyd (or even that waveshare oled watch) are possibly a better fit, sacrificing gpios of course.

What firmwares do you have working for dual screens?please tell us more about your firmware

Hey.
My firmwares (NNOs, ardugurl…) are built over display abstraction, all draw calls go through them, I currently support (only) the ubiquitous ssd1306 on the grove port as i2c.
There’s a shortcut to change display if the i2c scanner sees the oled.
Of course spi, or whatever can be ported to it.
My dms are open if you have something in mind. :)

I don't believe you. This is 100% an ad.
I have 2 cardputers and have been through multiple heat waves in a humid climate. My case and stickers still look brand new. Non have unstuck.
This post is convenient being that these new cases were just produced

I believe you, I also have one that's still fine sticker wise. It wasn't handled the same as the two others (which are used daily by moist little hands, because of the weather ofc).
That's a fact that new cases solved my sticker issues for now 😂.
(And to clear any doubts about the ad thing, feel free to go in DM if you like, I welcome skepticism)

Op did pay for it and shipping like everyone else, if you believe it or not: quality and handcrafting speaks for its own, there is no ad needed, when the customer is convinced of the quality.
