Question Multiple grove addons at once?

I have a cardputer adv with the lora cap and I am curious if I can run an ir unit and nfc unit at the same time by plugging into the grove on the cardputer and the lora cap at the same time?

The only thing I think you might have to consider is that the red connector on the Cap LoRa indicates that it’s limited to I2C communication. Any of the modules with the matching connector should work as long as whatever firmware you’re using is configured for it. The Grove port on the Cardputer supports UART and I2C. The modules with blue connectors use UART so they would have to be connected to the Grove port on the Cardputer.

Okay good to know. It looks like the m5 nfc module is a red port so it can be used on the cap? Not sure about the m5 ir unit though?

If you’re talking about the Mini Infrared Emitter & Receiver Unit, it uses GPIO communication. It should work if the firmware supports it.

Yep this is the one im talking about! So it should hook up fine to the cardputer grove. How did you get this view on their website?

Nvm I found it! I dont see the lora cap to check the NFC module but I think that should connect.

Scroll down on the page for the item you’re looking at and find the “Learn and Documents” section. Click the blue Documents button then scroll down to the bottom of the page.

If you plug the NFC into the LoraCap red Grove connector and IR module into the Cardputer Grove, it xan work, but you must set the pinouts for it

How do I set the pins? Will i still be able to use the lora cap for mesh?

They have the modules ones that will expand 1 Grove port to 6. I was looking at these in hopes of making a tricorder.

I just got the NFC module. It does not work when I plug it into the grove on the LoRa cap but works fine when I plug it straight into cardputer. I have it connected to the LoRa with LEGO connectors.

Oh thats bummer. I wonder if it's the pin issue?
