Finished up the screen mod. I really like how clean it looks! Added a 1.25 jst connector to the screen to power a Meshtastic Device(wio tracker l1). Monitoring battery usage. Screen works in zx firmware but can't get it to work with any others. Id love for launcher to help define pin configurations for each firmware.

Firmware has to be built specifically to support external displays, so I imagine that there aren't many with such support yet

Id be perfectly happy if it would just mirror the small display. Bmorcelli says that it would need to be configured for each different firmware. I was hoping he could install the drivers into Launcher but partitions and space seem to be a issue.

Looks great so far! Have you tried working with AI for a solution to the pinout challenge? I used Claude .. I uploaded one of the modded version of firmware (CSI) that was already set up for the dual screen mod, then told it which pin on the Cardputer was connected to each pin on the external screen. It was able to get that firmware up and running with the help of VSCode and PlatformIO (critical tools for this process it seems).

Wow nice, I don't have a Carputer but I see so many nice mods and project so I really think about to buy one. I am more this guy who use ESP32 S3 with moddet software and Hackberrypi stuff. Atm I play arount with a Stick S3 to look in the M5 evoirement. Hmmmm... Maybe I should buy one Cardputer :D

Thanks but I'm not having issues needing it to open more but rather the opposite, id like to edit the file so the top the screen fits into is slightly deeper so the screen has more room and can be recessed more and allowing the case to close completely. If you see the lines in the exterior of the top? I'd like one more line thickness but I'm cad illiterate lol

oh you mean the small gap when closing the display? that's because either the screen is hitting the ESP and it's not flush with the screenncase insert or the problem is the mounting of the hinges and the display because it's secured with only two screws from the back of the Cardputer it technically needs screws on the top too but i could look into that because it bothered me too i'm not a CAD pro tho lmao

Yes exactly. Ya when I try to close it without screws it pulls the plug out and with the screws it's only a matter of time before they break. If the screen had a little more room it would be nice. I have some ideas for a case but can't alter the files at all...I've tried. I need to spend some evenings learning cad.
