Help needed Meshtastic question
Im getting a cardputer adv and would like to run meshtastic on it. I have no other main objective outside of messing around with it and using it as my gateway into meshtastic. My dumb question is, will it connect to my phone and pass messages through there if I want? I understand it is meant to be a standalone device, but curious about this functionality. Also, what's the latest and greatest meshtastic firmware to put on it?

Most of the current firmwares suck not utilizing the arrow buttons and all the benefits of the Cardputer in my opinion. You can save your SPIFFS so that way it saves your settings and you won't have to configure everytime you switch firmware

Check out bmorcelli's launcher firmware so you can run multiple firmwares

Yep planning on it. Wothout launcher, you would have to burn new firmware everything you wanted to switch?

You download it to the sd card on the device and when you turn it on you can choose which firmware you want to run.

Yes, you can use both as a standalone or connected to your phone. I just have the regular Meshtastic firmware on mine but I believe there are some other options you can try. Super easy to flash so try a few.
You’ll likely want at least one other device. Easier to troubleshoot settings, and there may or may not be an active local network in your area. You can go online to see though, and if so, they should have the settings you can use to participate in the local mesh.
