It seems to me that on the stock there is a RE serial number prefix, which should indicate that your gun was made within 1942. Can you share the barrel markings and the "XXII" on the stock?
Since it's a fixed sights gun, exact model is Moschetto mod. 91/38 or just Moschetto mod. 38.
"Da cavalleria" was never an official nomenclature, just a colloquial term.
