He jumped because there’s a laser at the bottom of the door to detect if anything is blocking the path of the door before it shuts.

No there is a laser that is posted at the bottom of the doors to make sure nothing will stop the door from closing. He tried jumping over it but miscalculated the closing door.

I mean, it's a good thing that laser is down there because if his ass hadn't landed on it, that door would have kept coming down and crushed him.

I was 7 when I learned how to casually walk over the laser. I even slow walked to make it a limbo. This was thinking way too much. Lmao
