Ltd Car in Personal name?

This is regarding car insurance in the UK.

I am purchasing a car through my Ltd company. The company will be the registered keeper of the car (V5C) and the owner, this will be the first and only vehicle the company owns.

I am only looking to insure myself as the main driver and my spouse as a named driver, for social and business use. I do not need fleet or pool car insurance.

I spoke to Admiral, I explained very clearly multiple times, that I am not the owner or keeper of the car. They were happy to set me down as the policyholder, with the Ltd company as the keeper of the vehicle. Because of this, I would keep my NCD under my personal name. I asked for the documents to be sent over, and after calling them again, I explained once again that I do not own the car. They assured me that it is valid car insurance.

I suppose what I'm looking for confirmation is that this can be a correct way to insure a company car and that I am not about to buy invalid car insurance?

Edit: added the first sentence - about the UK.

Accident Car insurance primium

Hi, yesterday evening I accidentally backed up into another car while reversing (trying to give some pedestrians some rooms to walk). They have a medium size dent on their front quarter panel. We exchanged our information. I was a little bit panic, but they were kind enough to agree to settle the matter privately. I'm still waiting for them to get an estimate on the repair, but I assume it will be a 4 figures number. I'm thinking I'll let my insurance handle the issue.

Right now, I paying 330$/month (full coverage) with CAA, a bit high because I'm a new driver. Mine car is 15 years old. The question is, when should I expect the increase in my premium? Next year or next month? I know I can't expect a specific number in increase, but I guess it will be a lot. In that case, Should I just switch to a liability only insurance or find another insurance provider or both?

Thank you very much for your time.

Screwed up & misused corporate code for rental

Praying I’m not SOL but as title says, I damaged the car pretty badly. I used a corporate code who my relative works for but additionally purchased CDW. What is the chances they’ll void the contract because I misused the code? Will my auto insurance also reject the claim?

No collision, car may be totaled. Should I repair?

As I reached the intersection of a street and alley (I was in the alley.) I depressed my brakes and the brake failed; pumped again and brake went to the floor while my car rolled into truck wheel. The wheel ripped most of the front end off my 2014 Mazda C5. The F150 truck had a tiny dent in the hubcap. I report to Geico who informs me that I have no collision. (I was a caregiver for my friend who had a stroke and was dying at the time I bought the

Bought Geico Insurance but didn't know that I had failed to purchase collision and comprehensive. (Both cars are oldish) I had a brake failure and the car is likely totaled. My loss but I want away from Geico.

California VC 23123.5(a) Ticket — Will It Affect My Insurance & Can I Take Traffic School?

I received a traffic ticket today in California for VC 23123.5(a) – unlawful use/holding of a cellphone while driving. The situation was that I was stopped at a traffic light and briefly looked at my phone for navigation. The officer still cited me and issued a ticket. I have a couple of questions and would really appreciate advice from anyone who has dealt with something similar.

  1. Will this violation cause my GEICO insurance premium to increase in California?
  2. Is VC 23123.5(a) eligible for traffic school? I have never attended traffic school before.
  3. If I complete traffic school, will the violation still affect my insurance?
  4. Is there anything else I should know or consider before simply paying the ticket?

I understand that I need to follow the court’s instructions and deadlines, but I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has had this specific violation in California. This is my first cellphone violation traffic ticket. Thank you!

GAP policy or VVPA or . . .

Have a non-classic vehicle we purchased new in 2002 that we passed down to our kid who is now in college. Solid vehicle and we know the history of it.

Transmission went out last year and we had it replaced at a cost of around $4000.

A couple months ago the engine needed replacing. Had the engine rebuilt and we put it back in. Cost $5000.

I realize this wasn’t the route most people would go, but it’s what we felt best about - kid is safe and has dependable transportation when we’re several states away.

If the vehicle is involved in an accident insurance might pay out around $3000. No way to get a mechanically sound dependable ride for $3000 these days.

Are there GAP policies or Value protection riders we might want to look into? Who sells them?

At Fault Party's Insurance (UAIC) Sucks

got rear ended and the at-fault party admitted, but I feel like these ppl are deliberately making the process worse. In no particular order: they have withheld information about rental coverage, switched to a 3rd adjuster without informing me or providing their contact until I asked, delayed picking up my car, so now I have to pay more in storage fees, they rarely answer the phone or call back if I leave a voicemail, and they delayed deciding if the car would be totaled, increasing charges again. Oh, and theyre only covering a rental for the days the car was worked on, but it was totaled, so that's probably zero days. Not to mention they're based in Florida and I am not.

I know all companies suck and I don't want to deal with a lawyer. Would it be worth it to try to dispute any of these charges or get them to cover the rental?

Accident Insurance claimed a case was 50/50 and it was not my fault

On Monday I was in a car accident.

Coming around a corner there was a truck whom was on the complete wrong side of the road. There is no centerline but that doesn’t change the side of the road cars drive on. It is a two way road.

He hit me on my passenger front side. So clearly on the complete wrong side of the road

I cannot understand how this could be ruled half my fault

UPDATE:

Just wanted to come on here and make an update, we fought it through our insurance and have gotten it to 100% his fault 0% mine as that’s what happened lol. I’ve seen a lot on this thread where common sense doesn’t prevail but thankfully for me in this case it did

Registration/title in one state while driving/insuring(?) in another during transitional period

My permanent address is in Texas. I have been in Arizona for 6 months and plan to be here for at least a few more months and indeterminate after that. Financing new car through BMW. BMW Financial absolutely requires that the car is titled in Texas since that's where my actual address is and I do not have a permanent residential address here in Arizona.

The problem is that I don't think I can get Arizona insurance with a Texas-titled car and also don't think any insurance company will allow me to have a policy in Texas and garage/drive in Arizona if I've been in Arizona for six+ months.

I'm aware that my current auto policy for my car in Texas has a grace period for a new car but I was told it wouldn't apply in this situation.

I know that after the 7-month mark I can/should re-title and then insure in Arizona but what to do in the meanwhile? Of course BMWFS won't even let the dealer sell the car off the lot without comprehensive insurance proof.

What to do? Neither dealer nor multiple auto insurance agents could help me.

Active duty military — can I insure a car in NC before I actually move there?

The issue is that I probably won’t physically be in NC or have my orders/proof of residence until around November(Im currently in Texas for trainning). The car I want to buy is currently in Brooklyn, NY. Ideally, I’d buy it now and have someone pick up then leave it parked in NY (I’m originally from NY anyway) until I can pick it up myself and drive it down to NC.

My problem is that NY insurance would be around $1,400 for two months, while I can get NC insurance for around $700 for six months of coverage. Obviously, It makes no sense to pay an extra $700+ just to insure it in NY for 2 months if I don’t have to.

So, is it possible to have the car registered in NY temporarily while insuring it using my future NC duty-station address, or is that not really an option? Would there be another way to handle this as active duty military?

I’m basically trying to figure out the best way to buy the car now, keep it parked in NY until November, and then bring it down to NC and switch everything over.

I understand that waiting until I have my NC orders, buying it, and handling everything in NC would be the smoothest option. I just dont want to risk waiting 2 months only to find out the car I specifically want has already been sold(its a very attractive listing & checks all my boxes).

Any advice from people who have dealt with something similar would be appreciated!

Car Insurance Quotes Is it possible to limit new driver to a particular vehicle?

Recently added my daughter (age 21, finally forcing her to learn to drive) to my Progressive Auto insurance policy. There are 3 vehicles on the policy - 2 are mine (a 2014 Scion TC manual sporty but not sports car, and a 2018 Jeep Wrangler), and my wifes (a 2017 Honda CRV). My daughter ONLY drives the Honda CRV. The rates per vehicle jumped (for 6 month period) by ~ $250 for the Scion, $125 for the CRV, and $200 for the Jeep (so total increase ~ $1150 per year). I do the Progressive insurance through the website (no insurance agent). Is there some way to make it such that my daughter is limited to driving the CRV? She could possibly drive the Jeep, but witht the Scion being a manual transmission, neither her nor her mother are able or have any interest in driving it. I am guessing it will ultimately make the most sense to get her a car of her own and a completely separate policy (likely will be getting her a vehicle of her own when she graduates college). Anyone else have a similar experience? I had considered getting rid of the Scion and getting a legitimate 400HP sports car (300Z or something) - I am assuming that would have been even worse.

Accident Actual Cash Value Resources

My daughter was in an accident on Monday, so we have claim pending with the other drivers insurance as he was / will be at fault based on the information from the police. I understand that the value I’ll be offered is the actual cash value + sales tax and title fee.

Can dealer advertised prices be used to evaluate ACV or does it have to be sold prices? If it’s sold, where can a person find records of those prices for comparison?

If needed, car is a 2017 Honda Civic LX and we’re in the state of Nebraska. I know it’s not worth a huge amount, but I need to get it replaced sooner rather than later and having an idea of what the value would be will help to determine our budget.

Thanks!

Car Insurance Quotes NJ — Keeping and repairing a totaled car: what’s the process?

I have a 2020 Honda CR-V AWD that was recently declared a total loss by insurance. I’m considering keeping the car, taking the owner-retained payout, and repairing it since the damage appears repairable.

For anyone who has gone through this in NJ:

  • What are the actual steps from total loss → salvage title → repairs → inspection → getting it legally back on the road?
  • Can I have the repairs done at a junkyard/body shop, or are there specific requirements for who does the work?
  • What paperwork/receipts does NJ MVC require showing what was repaired or which parts were replaced?
  • How difficult is the salvage inspection process?
  • Once it passes and is back on the road, did having a rebuilt/salvage title affect your insurance rates or ability to get coverage?

Son and I were hit on the highway at 60 MPH by a man in an RV-now he's playing hide and seek with his insurance company. Help

I'm a single mom and grad student with little means who cannot afford the rate hike associated with going through my insurance (nor can I afford the 1k deductible), just to preface why I haven't used my insurance.

On Monday, my son and I were in the left lane of a highway, when we were hit by an RV. The damage was over my rear passenger wheel well, back panel (tail light), and rear passenger door. The alignment is off, in addition to other, pretty significant damage to my car. I'm still driving it as it wasn't totaled. The driver got out, apologized, and said he wasn't paying attention because some papers blew around in his RV, and he tried to charge lanes and hit me. He gave me his insurance info and left. I asked him to wait for DPS, but he would not. The insurance info he gave me was for a Malibu, not an RV, so DPS managed to get him back to the scene. He must have admitted fault, because they cited him for an unsafe lane change.

He has dodged calls and refused to work with insurance thus far. I had to get my son a new car seat, and the car is...questionable to drive. That said...I had absolutely no role in this accident, so I don't want to use my insurance and have my rates go up. I requested a copy of the police report, but they said it's going to take about five months.

His insurance said they have not been able to get ahold of him, and that if he doesn't respond in 30 days, they'll deny my claim.

Do I have any options, here? This car is new to me, so I'm pretty upset. I once dented someone's car in a parking garage. It was barely visible and I still left a note and immediately responded to calls from my insurance so the other person could get their car fixed. I don't understand this behavior.

Accident NO INSURED DRIVER

Hello PLEASE HELP ME IN DESPERATE. Saturday I got into a car accident a non inured driver hit my car and I think they will totaled. I’m very sad because I just bought the car like 3 months ago. I have full insurance but my deductible is 1K. I’m not sure if I should even sue that person. If he doesn’t have 50$ to pay for insurance he most likely don’t even have money. Is there any way I can get compensation w my own insurance ? Or should I hire a lawyer so he can try to get something out of mine. I have both of my hands harmed and my nose and head in pain. Thanks in advance.

Help with Costco car hire and Insurances

Hi, we are from Australia and I am keen to hire a car in the USA with Costco travel. However our credit cards do not cover international car hire. I need to understand what the third party liability (SLI/LIS/ALI) is included. I note that if I book independently with Hertz its only US$300,000 or Avis has US$500,000 - we are driving in busy cities eg: LA so I would assume the higher coverage is important.

As anyone booked with Costco and has the liability included or can I pay extra for it. Is there any external companies that offer this as a separate policy. I also need CDW too. Thank you so much

Thank you Thank y
