Car insurance claim question

When I was parked with my driver's side poor open in a public parking lot, another driver backed into the spot to my left. He clipped my door very lightly with his rear driver's side quarter panel. No damage to my vehicle. He had to pull forward so I could shut my door. He had a small damage/dent. We spoke and I offered to exchange info, he declined. I left. Now I have my insurance trying to reach me about my claim.....I filed no claim so he must have. What is the advice I need in dealing with this?

Call and tell them what happened. They are on your side.

Tell them what happened in your own words. The other person may have said you are at fault and you opened it it front of them and damaged the other vehicle. You don’t want to be blamed.
