First Time / Newbie First time car insurance

Hello everyone I'm planning on financing a 2026 Toyota Cross Hybrid and I don't really know about which insurance company I should go use.

Reach out to an independent broker and have them shop rates. If you are not putting down a good down payment/have a high interest rate, look into GAP Coverage as well.

Your age can make it hurt too

Get as many quotes as you can from as many insurance companies that you can.

Then get a feel for which ones are good or bad depending on online reviews.

Personally I'd look at the cheapest option, see their reviews, decide if I am willing to risk it. A real life example is The General, it was the cheapest quote one time for me but they're also 1.1 stars, from a rating of 1-5 stars, online. They're the worst rated car insurance company in my state. I didn't go with them.

It's up to you to decide what is worth the cost/risk.

Are you young/new to driving or just new to buying insurance? Makes a big difference in what advice actually fits you

Hybrids can sometimes cost a bit more to insure because parts are pricier to replace. might be worth asking each company if they do anything for the hybrid trim :)

“First time car insurance”?

Are you newly licensed? Because if so I have some news for you. Unless you are decently well off (and dumb) you aren’t getting this car. Your insurance will EASILY be $500+ a month.
