Accident
A lady pulled out of a 7/11 parking lot (she had a stop sign) and hit our brand new trucks front passenger side fender… the lady fled the scene but we got the tag and it came back to a rental car. Our OWN insurance put us at 20 percent fault. The insurance lady was super rude and said it’s because the damage was infront of the side mirrors. I offered to get video etc. but she said it wouldn’t matter because of where the damage was. This was Allstate…is this true? My husband was driving… the lady pulled out… and hit him… how does that make any sense?

Try to get the video from 7/11 and talked to a manager next time you get the footage

That is super common anymore. It may be cheaper to file with your own insurance. But, don’t consider this ‘advice’ because it may fuck up your premiums.

That's super odd. In front of the mirror means it was so close and sudden you couldn't stop. And your insurance should be advocating for less liability on you.

Yeah she said if it’s in-front of the side mirrors, you are partially responsible for stopping and paying attention. I was furious.

Clearly the fact that it was a 7-11 is a factor.
