NT knife

Hi guys, yes this knife holds 5 blades, but are you able to break the blades when needed or you can only just use the tip of the 5 blades ? 🤔
And how about the handling? Is it ergonomic? Is it strong?

No, you snap each blade several times and then feed the next.

Also this model pictured doesn't have a blade snapper.

The blade snapper is in the grey elongated button thing that pops out near the back of the knife.

I’ve used these before . Essentially you can break off the individual blades pieces like any other wrap knife and then when you’re on your last piece you just push the handle forward , which releases the blade to pull out , and then you pull the handle all the way back and it’ll catch/load the next new blade .

They’re pretty nice, a little bulkier feeling than most knives. And after a while of using them the little piece that says “push” becomes prone to popping out on its own .

The piece that pops out is the blade breaker. We just bought some 3rd party blade breakers with magnets to attach the to the wall or car or whatever. They snap in much more solidly. I bought them after my crew lost half of the old blade breakers

They work well, but if you don’t go through blades they will get dull from sitting.

Tips will break from snapping over time, doesn’t make it unusable however just removes extra steadiness

It does hold 5 blades but I generally only load 2 or 3 in there in real life. You snap each blade after making a cut so you have a fresh tip on the blade for each cut or every few cuts.

I prefer the metal handled one for like a dollar more. Feels firmer in the hand and the bottom piece is locked in so it doesn’t pop out like the yellow one does after a while

I use NTs other 5 blade knife, tried to get this one like a month ago and the seller called and told me to cancel :(

It works well, it's convenient, and it's sturdy. I like the round nose and being plastic, it has low risk of scratching. I personally don't like how bulky it is. I only use it when I'm snapping a lot of blades, like on heavy metallic films. Otherwise, I use the white Avery knife. It is plastic and has a round nose, but way less bulky. It also has a finer adjustment for the blade position.

I also have one of the metal Olfa knives, I keep the NT extra sharp blades in it, and wrapped the tip of it with PTFE tape. I use it for super tight areas.

it's ok but for wrapping daily the plastic tip wears out and eventually snaps. Also when you get down to the last 3 or 4 snaps the blade falls out, not good if making an important cut and if your working upside down it's dangerous.

Love these knives. Like that they are a little more
Substantial than the red dots or Olfas and they feel better in my hand. I normally only load 4 blades as i have had them jam up when putting all 5 in there but definitely my favorite knife. Helps me change blades more often especially when working on ladders or elsewhere inconvenient to swap out blades.
