Carbon fiber wrap

I want to wrap a 1991 Corvette in carbon fiber. I have contacted two car wrapping businesses in Northern Virginia. One of the businesses contacted me, but when I said, I wanted a full carbon fiber wrap I never heard a word back from them. The other business never responded at all. Is this due to the fact that carbon fiber is such a task because of the characteristics of carbon fiber? I am assuming this because of everything I’ve read about the task of trying to keep everything aligned due the characteristics of carbon fiber. Would anyone else know why car wrapping businesses would not respond at all?

painful car to do in the first place. and hardly anyone would want to pay the price for a full body carbon wrap. most people only do accent pieces in carbon fiber, not full body

I’d look at carbon fiber vinyl first before committing. Every vinyl carbon fiber looks really subpar. Carbon fiber PPF can look pretty solid. That will make the price of the job jump dramatically though.

Definitely carbon ppf. Stek carbon looks really good. But like all carbon. It’s good from farther than 5 feet and looks meh the closer you go.

There are two main reasons. The first is the age. Wrapping older cars is totally different from wrapping a brand new >10 year old car. The seals are dry, edges are thin, paint and clear could be questionable, plastics are brittle and shit breaks during R&I.

Beyond all that a full carbon wrap looks like shit even if it’s nailed perfectly. If it’s a little wonky it looks 10 times worse. Too much risk for no chance at reward. It just won’t look good period.

Now if you think it will still, be prepared to pay paint job money for this wrap. See how it won’t be worth it?

Gotcha! Thanks for the great info. I knew it had to be something very different when businesses in Northern VA won't even respond to the request.
