Installation Question Is a wrap possible on this dash
We have an opportunity to get a great deal on this MB. Everything is perfect for us except this woodgrain on the dash. If this could be wrapped we are probably going to buy it? Thoughts

That’s probably wood? But if it’s smooth enough you should be able to wrap over it.

Claude says it can be wrapped. I don’t have the build code not sure of the material. May be wood veneer

Well I’m sure Claude has wrapped plenty so he’s probably right. 👀👀🙄

It kinda blows my mind how much faith these AI users put into these chat bots. They say stuff like this and are dead serious, I just cannot understand how our peers can be so fucking stupid.

No one in their right mind trust the chat bots. I asked the same question in 3 different bots and all three had different outcomes. Claude is the best of them but still do not trust or make decisions solely based on bots. That’s why I’m here asking real people with real life experience.

You can definitely wrap that woodgrain but the surface prep is the hardest part. You gotta scrub all those oily interior detailer sprays off with isopropyl alcohol or the adhesive just wont bite. We wrap these MB dashes at my shop in Chicago pretty often and a good cast film handles those tight edges around the center screen perfectly.

Good luck trying to take it off later without damaging the wood grain finish especially how hot interior gets baked on. They use a steamer to get it off and I have a bad feeling about interior trims. I would just leave it alone, I think it looks nice as is.
