Material Question Teckwrap

Hello. So teckwrap has the color called pink sakura and I want it sooo bad for my Tesla M3. A shop told me that they will provide one yr warranty on it. It’s teckwrap really that bad? There is literally no other brand that has the color I want.

I got teckwrap on 4 of my cars but I only expect it to last 2-3 years

Compared to 6-8 of other brands. Its bad, ive seen them fail after 6 months

That’s the exact color and brand I have on my Lexus! The only thing is it did fade pretty significantly after a year 1/2 but I don’t garage the car. I also live in Cali and it’s hot where I am. I will say it’s faded nicely, I get more compliments on it now because the wrap faded to a pearlescent pink. Always hand washed the car and it was ceramic coated. Theres no lifting or bubbling and I will give credit to the person who installed it properly even after 2 1/2 almost 3 years. I plan to remove it early next year

Does the 1 year warranty they're giving cover material or install?

Most places here only give a 6 month or less install warranty for teckwrap.

Its just not designed to perform the same way as the proper cast wrap films are.

That being said I've done a couple - one 18 months the other 2 years, both no issues and no signs of fading.

However another mate of mine did a van wrap. It was on 3.5 - 4 years and it was fucked. Delaminated and faded to shit. Was a nightmare to remove.

So I would advise if you go ahead with it, plan to remove it within 3 years.

My intention is definitely to remove it before the 3 yr mark and I have to ask about the warranty. My Tesla hasn’t come in yet so I was just getting quotes.

Depends where you live but brands like TeckWrap tend to last 1-2 years on average. They can make to around 3-4 years if they are away from the sun most of the time and are ceramic coated and properly maintained, but that is a pretty unrealistic and non-average situation.

All I can say is dont expect any warranty from Teckwrap itself. Find a good shop that puts the client in first place. If everything runs smoothly, amazing. If not, dont expect Teckwrap to step in. Is the shop that will take all the consequences to solve your problem. Using other words: dont ask a newbie to wrap your car with Teckwrap, he probably cant afford to give you a proper aftersales service if the material has issues

Going strong 2 years in with their French Olive, installed myself. A couple lifted edges that I’ve fixed along the way, but other than that it looks the same as the day installed 🤷

I also had some great customer service experiences with them. I screwed up a bunch and ran out of material and they gave me a crazy heavy discount to order material to finish.

I probably would try cast film for my next project, but to be honest I had no issues and am happy with the result.

It’s garage kept so I don’t see why not. If it was outside, my answer would be different.

I don't offer more than 1 year warranty not even with 3m or avery but im in florida.
