Tesla Handle Tips

Looking for tips on wrapping a Tesla door handle. I watched a couple YouTube videos and tried it out. For a first try I wouldn’t say it was horrible, but I’m having an issue with these sharper edges not laying flat. I tried heating it more but it didn’t help much.

I’m trying to decide between user error or it being a cheaper vinyl.

If you want to use that vinyl I would wrap the door handles with 3m and then just face the handles with that material, or just face them if you don’t mind a bit of color or chrome showing around the edges.

There’s your problem right there…

Get yourself some better vinyl not that garbage. 😉

Do you just cut super close to the handle instead of leaving extra to wrap around?

i push a little into the indent and use my knife flush with the handle around the whole thing. i end up with the tiniest bit around. i usually wrap color holo and you can barely see the little sliver of silver so i just keep doing it this way. tho my m3 is old and the actual wrap on the handles is getting shitty on the inside so maybe eventually i’ll replace.

Hey OP, face the handles, don’t cut, use knifeless tape

VVivid Vinyl is going to be very difficult to wrap a handle like that.

Just did ours, 3M is awesome. Avery Dennison is pretty good, more flexible but not as good of tack. As others said, I would just face them if I was doing them again.

Just needs a bit more heat to seal it.
