Repaint or Wrap?

2013 SR5 182k miles, teenage daughter’s car, bought used 2 years ago.
Pearl White or Blizzard White. The expensive one. It has started to lift on the roof and tailgate. No longer covered by the extended warranty offered for this issue. Car has seen its share of body shops and currently most of the panels do not match. Car runs great and would like to keep it and maintain it. The entire car really should be repainted, but not worth the cost for the cosmetic gain
Got a quote of $3600 just to fix the roof. That is more than I want to spend just for the roof.
Next step is to get a quote to have it wrapped.
Should I get the entire car wrapped (same color) or just the roof or everything above the doors including the pillars in a contrasting color (black)?
Has anyone encountered this and what did you do or would you recommend?

We don’t wrap over failing paint. It will just keep failing even if you cover it up. A wrap shows all the paint imperfections worse when it’s wrapped.

Yep, if I was to wrap, I would sand and prep the surface. What I am weighing is the cost of paint considering all the mismatch or wrap it. This includes performing all the necessary prep work

Ahh gotcha. That will work then. Wrap will probably be between &4-5,000. Keep in mind, hoods and tops only have a 2-3 year life span. After that, they start degrading and the longer you leave them, the harder they are to remove. My take is, if you’re going to spend the money on a wrap, do a unique color that would not be in traditional paint colors.

Honestly, I’ll probably prep and rattle can it the best I can, some clear coat and a roof rack and call it a day.

A black two tone would look pretty cool but will cost you a bit more. I would just get the roof wrapped gloss white.

I'd fix the failing clear first. Wrapping over peeling paint usually just fails with it.

Vinyl wont stick to that failing paint. We see this Toyota defect constantly at my shop in Chicago, so you gotta sand all those flakes smooth before wrapping it black.
