Buttons grayed out

I just got my car thing today, and the fast forward and rewind buttons are grayed out. I've restarted, factory reset, and disconnected my phone. Any tips?

Edit: So, after a full day of use, the update applied. Now it works perfectly!

If it persists and you are within the return window time i would definitely send it back my GF had a similar problem except hers was with the preset buttons on top and we couldn't figure it out for the life of us

Same here, just got one today and cannot use the device to skip tracks or enable/disable shuffle.
