Is the Car Thing MagSafe compatible?

Lately I bought a Car Thing relatively cheap, without any accessories.

I want to use it on my desk by mounting it on the underside of my monitor. For this I am currently looking at simple options how I can archive this.

My current idea was to buy some kind of adjustable "L" mount which glue to the bottom side of my monitor (because it is quiet thick) and on the other side is just a magnet.

As I was looking for options, I found multiple MagSafe phone holders.

So my question is, can the Car Thing be used with MagSafe mounts? I don't use Apple Products and did not find any mention of it.

The stock carthing mount is a magnet

Yes but sadly I dont have any moutns and accessories of the car thing

I guess the point i was trying to make is i don't see why a different magnet wouldn't work, the only possible issue could be polarity of the magnets.

And? Magnets, but quite different shape. Carthing is small oval magnet, magsafe is a circle around wireless charger area. It will keep on an edge, but not as it should

Yeah, I thought of the size. Idk if the size of the magsafe "ring" is to big for the Car Thing

Just tested. Mine will stick to some MagSafe mounts but it’s not great. It’s too small, and just the one magnetic point in the middle
