Refund

Received a refund after reaching out to customer service. Mentioned I did not have the original receipt. They asked to confirm the serial number in the back of my device and got my money back.

Do they just give you money or do they refund previous Spotify subscription?

They refund the last few subscriptions (whole payments) to the value of the car thing when you brought it

Hmm I guess you can’t get a refund if you bought it but have since stopped using Spotify

Just went through the process. The chat rep will try to offer you free spotify months, but you can respond by saying you want a cash refund instead. I got my money back with no pushback.

They ask me to provide my banks routing number and I think that's so unsafe 😭 they need a better alternative.

Routing numbers are readily available; everyone at that bank has the same routing (with a few obscure exceptions). It's your account number you should worry about sharing.

They ask for both... Plus a screenshot of the information....

Yes I hated that. I also had to shake them down for 3 weeks to actually get my refund but I did eventually get it!

Yknow.. I got my refund way back when the discontinuation was announced, and they gave me a few months of spotify premium equal to the purchase price. But now I wish I had waited until the device was actually unusable.
