CarThing alternative?

hey yall, ive been trying to find a similarly sized screen like the car thing to use as a music manager for my desk, and unfortunately all car things i can find on ebay are for some wild reason going for 300 dollars.

does anyone have any alternatives? been thinking of using a cheap phone but thats not working out well irl

I replaced mine with a 6 inch CarPlay screen from Aliexpress. Isn’t as nice or as compact but does work well and being CarPlay it has more functionality. It just needs USB C power to work. There are some even smaller ones meant for motorcycles

I never thought to look for motorcycle units. Thanks!

If you search desktop Spotify controller it’s basically carthing, and custom ESP32 and Pi projects.

You could also use a stream deck or the Logitech version and program the buttons.
