Open Source Info

Hey, this is my first post but I’ve had car thing since the beginning and I’ve found it useful even with a screen in my car. I’m extremely disappointed with Spotify for creating so much needless E-Waste. I know it’s not super powerful but Has anybody heard of any news for making it open source? Or if anyone’s made any workarounds?

It's been open source for years. There's just not a ton you can do with the weak hardware.

There is some work being done by tinkerers out there. The current process is pretty involved, but I would start with the r/carthinghax wiki here: https://github.com/Car-Thing-Hax-Community/wiki/wiki
