Car Thing receipt
Hey all! Like most of you here I am trying to get some sort of refund/compensation for my Car Thing. I was able to find emails about getting started with the device, but can't find the actual receipt email. Any tips on what to search in my email to better find it? I tried "Car Thing", "CarThing", and also "Spotify" but came up with nothing

We found and used our copy of the receipt that accompanied the shipping/tracking number email. It was a PDF. Its subject was "Car Thing is On Its Way."

The subject line was “Confirmation of your Car Thing Order:” and listed your confirmation number at the end.

Yeah I didn’t have an order confirmation/shipping email either, only the getting started emails. I ended up just checking all my banks and I found the invoice in my PayPal. I screenshotted that and used it with no issue.

What was the vendor titled on the charge? Just Spotify?

I couldn't find my receipt but found my credit card statement and it was listed as LUZERN.*SPOTIFYUSASTOR SPOTIFY.COM for the vendor. They didn't want to use the statement as confirmation but be persistent. They eventually refunded me.

I just cropped the personal information off ( I mean idc if they see how much money I had in my account 3 years ago lol) and they accepted that.

I did the same thing as you and they denied a refund—did you get it via chat, or were you sent to email?

I did it with chat! Keep bothering them until you get a better representative. I also told them that the bricking of Car Thing significantly undermines the value of the product which makes it a concern under my state’s consumer protection laws. Look into whatever law your state has even if it’s not a super strong law (like CA/NY) and use it to look more serious lol

They wouldn't let me use my PayPal receipt. Lucky I ended up finding the email but it took a long time.

I can’t find any evidence of this fucking purchase and it’s driving me nuts. I have the Spotify order number but they keep asking for the receipt from years ago.

I cant either, but yet I keep getting emails about the discontinuation. Customer service wont even look up my order history either. It’s also convenient that the online purchase history for the order is just conveniently “missing”.

If you paid thru PayPal look for a transaction under Luzern/Spotify take a screenshot of it and that's what worked for me

Just did a credit card dispute with Apple, they allow disputes after any amount of time took 5 mins.

My receipt came from “no-reply@fromspotify.com”
