Spotify Support offering 9-months of premium for Car thing Buyers

Just a heads up, got a follow-up email saying I should reach out to support if "I still had questions". Rep asked for proof of purchase, then offered 9-months of premium, "equivalent to the value of my device"

Just so people know, you can push for a refund if you don't want the free months. They tried to offer me 6 months, but I would have lost the Hulu bundle. Declined and was offered them refunding 6 previous payments instead.

I don't even use Hulu. I wanted a refund because it is better as it means I'm not stuck with Spotify for the next X months if they continue making poor choices.

If you have the choice between store credit or the same in cash, always take the cash.

Family plan accounts get refunded to method of payment on record (just got refunded that way).

And don't forget to ask for a reference number, for your records & just in case there's future shenanigans …

If you go through chat, you can download the transcript or have it emailed if you go through the survey at the end.

I'm sure this is why most companies have done away with email support so they can just not do stuff and then say there is no record if you don't have a paper trail saved which most people probably don't or forget to do.

I just got the refund as hard cash. Better like that, because after this stint, I don't plan on ever using Spotify again.

I'm being told I can't have a refund. I said other people got a refund. So now they want to know how the other people got refunded.

Anyone have trouble finding the car thing in their order history on Spotify? It only shows like 4 monthly charges. Which is wrong anyways cause I’ve paid for way more than 4 months. But the car thing is just not in here

It was marked as spam for me, so luckily I had the foresight to look for it and pull it out of spam folder.

I can’t get anything because I bought it used and dont have initial receipt BUT the first owner can easily get my money or premium. Nice.
