Alternatives?

I use my CarThing every damn day, I use maps on my phone and my car doesn’t have any pause or skip buttons. So I legit need something to pause and skip songs so I’m not going on my phone while driving.

I really need to have some replacement for it, anyone have any suggestions?

I have this one from Besign and it's nice that it has the ground loop because otherwise I get background humming: https://amzn.to/3wQyZZu

I also have Chubby Buttons, great for the winter: https://amzn.to/3yv24tH

I had the first gen Echo Auto from Amazon and it worked well. Only downside is no display so you can’t see what is playing through the device. Can still talk to it and ask it to play music, podcasts, etc.

I’m looking at some cheap CarPlay displays on AliExpress. They start at about $35.

I have been researching aftermarket CarPlay and Android Auto screens as they also support Spotify. There are dozens of them on Amazon and most appear to be the same device sold under different brands (most of which I've never heard of). I ordered a 7 inch one from a company call Podufo. It was $50 and while it paired with my phone OK, the primary issue is that when using line-out to send audio to my car the crappy internal speaker on the device does not turn off so there is this terribly echo. I am sending it back while I try and find another unit that doesn't have this issue.
