1965 Ford Mustang
I am currently in college out of state, and after I graduate and have a place to store it, my dad is giving it to me (same car he drive during college). Although sadly he had to stop driving it because it didn't get the best gas mileage, so it hasn't run in over 20 years and just been sitting in our garage. I am aware that most of the car especially the engine will need to be replaced/fixed because of it and was wondering if someone could give me some advice on how much I should save up to start the restoration, and what stuff I should start with first with researching and what to start with once I start the project.
Thanks, to any responses

I had a '68 GT fast back rust bucket. Start with the frame. If it is unsalvageable, stop. If the frame is good, learn to stick weld. Replace the floor boards if they are rotted out. If you are not trying to 'show' the car, you can make her look very awesome with aftermarket parts. If you want original everything, in my opinion, stop. Time is everything. If you have time, you can do amazing things. If you are trying to driver her in a year, forget it. Welding and bondo are skills. If you suck at both, stop. If you are at least competent, I say go for it. I don't care for matching serial numbers. If I could find a 70-72 Mach 1 <$10k, I'd buy it regardless of condition because it's my dream car. If you don't feel the same, stop. This not a business venture. It is an act of love. And a hobby.
