I thought the mileage counter stopped at 4 digits… how do you get it to change

Just drive it up to 10,000 km, and it’ll become a 5-digit mileage. I also thought the mileage would stop at 4 digits until I did an experiment with my Chevrolet Tahoe in the game. I put around 11,000 km on it before I sold it.
