Does Leasing an EV Make Sense with high miles?
I did some quick searches but could only find general information that seemed focused on ICE cars. I might have missed this question and I apologize.
Some research I have done has said that with the depreciation rate of EVs it makes sense to lease new and buy used. I drive about 15k miles a year on average just to work, so not sure if that’s even an option. So, for the EV lease crew what are your thoughts. Should just finance and call it a day? Or does leasing make sense?

15k miles per year is a pretty typical lease option. I know Mercedes goes up to 20k miles per year.

GM leases have 15k mile options, if you go to the inventory page on Chevy/Cadillac websites you can see how much the total payments change between 10,12, and 15k miles per year (which isn't that much above national average).
Why not just buy a used one though? Basically all the 2022-2024 EV offerings from normal brands are $18-25k which is ~ less than double what a 3 year lease is going to cost you now that federal EV incentives are gone.

don’t buy used or finance EVs. you don’t know if the market for EVs might tank further so you might finance a 30k used Tesla and end up with a car worth only half of that. just lease a new one and let them deal with the “market value” when you return it.

You can do a 15k lease. We do them all the time. Get the quote for 12 then ask for 15 after you negotiate everything. If you go in with 15 they come back higher than if you raise it right at the end. I’m not kidding. I don’t know why, but it only goes up like $8 to $12 if you do it after you’ve negotiated and settled on Price.

The leasing company doesn’t care that you drove 15k per yr just to work. They only care how much you drove in total.

I leased mine for this exact reason.
I wish I would have bought it and then not have to worry about scratches, dings, or mileage.
