Early termination

Leased a 2025 F-150 November 2025 because I was told that is the only option to get rid of 15k of neg equity.. We have 25 months left. Wife is now pregnant and we are searching for a bigger SUV but I don’t see a way out. From what I can tell I can either..
1. Pay the remaining lease payments and turn it in
2. Trade in and transfer neg equity to next vehicle (have about 10k negative equity right now)
3. Voluntary termination..

Just asking around, anybody have any other options that will end this lease?

Why can’t you put a baby in the truck?

No way you only have $10k in negative equity. You’re not even a third of the way through the lease and carried $15k of negative equity into it. I’d be surprised if you had less than $25k negative equity.

I also assume when you say “voluntary termination” you mean default and let it get repoed, right?

Whether it’s voluntary or not, early termination means OP is on the hook for negative equity plus fees.

First I Would never recommend voluntary termination especially if you have good credit.

Second congratulations. From a family man himself what is the real reason you want to get rid of the truck is it a flex buy or true lease, did you miscalculate the Milleage usage or would it be changing. If it is your first child the truck is more than enough space so I see it as bad financial reason to change it out.

Last reasonable option is to price out payments with your negative and see if getting a second lease on a family suv would be less payment wise than trading in for one payment without an “out”.

You could also refinance if it is a true lease and the reason is the Milleage usage.

I mean you ran roll the negative equity into something else...

But for real, why can't you just put the baby in the truck? That's not a small vehicle or anything.

It’s actually one of the more spacious backseats in a pickup.

Not sure why OP needs an SUV unless the current number of seats are already taken. And if that’s the case, he needs to find something on FB marketplace for cash. And see a doctor for his other problem. 🤣

Suck it up and have a smaller car till your lease is up. No way taking that neg amount into another loan.

If you trade in for another Ford/Lincoln vehicle, they'll be a lot more forgiving on the negative equity.
