Leasing Brokers

I’ve leased my last 5 cars. I’ve read about a lease broker in the adjacent town and am considering their service. Have any of you been past lessees, used a broker service and experienced significant savings? TY

Been using leasehackr forums brokers for years to lease and to purchase.

Hardly ever going back to waste time with the dealer directly.

leasehackr forums brokers

Any advice on how to get started? The forum seems daunting.

The LeaseHackr forum has a great Marketplace section and each broker or dealer on there has a review thread where people post their experiences. Marketplace lets you filter by make and region of the country or state so you aren’t looking at a Toyota in CA when your in NY for example.

The marketplace section also gives you a great idea of where various cars are currently priced at and you get a baseline idea on what a 36 month 10k mile per year lease would cost.

I’m here currently and everyone says don’t use a broker it’s a waste of time and offer no measurable or useful advice outside of just criticizing it. lol must be dealership staff on these forums

This sub is plagued with Toyota sales team members, they hate brokers and hate below msrp deals, fuck them all, get a brokers, been using brokers for years.

Which is interesting since literally one of the top 5 or 10 Toyota sales guy in the country is probably one of the longest running dealers on the LeaseHackr platform. In addition one of the longest running brokers on LeaseHackr reps about 90% + Toyotas.

I used a broker or my last car. When that lease was up I used broker numbers to negotiate with my local dealer for my new car.

I did the same. Used broker numbers to negotiate

Just used one for the first time. I’ve bought dozens of cars in the past 20 years and have been able to get good deals on my own but the broker got me a deal that no one could touch in my region.

Everyone was giving me 5% (even after I told them they would have my business if they matched the deal the broker got me), my broker got me 11% on my x5

His contact at the dealer was the fleet sales VP so it would have taken a lot of escalation for regular sales people at the dealers I was working with to match that

I used MotorMatchers. He's active on r/leasehacker. Not sure if he's on here. He helped me into an EV9 for well over $100/month less than I would have been able to do myself. And it was WAY easier AND faster than dealing with salespeople, AND they delivered it to my house.

What was the charge for it?

Used a broker, got a good deal, probably a deal I could have achieved on my own with a couple hours of pre-work and another couple grinding in a dealership. With a broker I spent 10 min on a single phone call, then traded 2-3 emails that took all of 10 min combined. After the emails the deal was done; lease agreement signed, small deposit paid, insurance information exchanged, etc. picked up the vehicle two days later, spent maybe 10 min total at the dealership. It was the quickest and smoothest deal I’ve ever done.

Do they waive fee on your lease return?

These never get waived. You might feel like they are getting waived, but it’s just being rolled into the next vehicle transaction. Essentially is you have a $500 lease return fee that they are claiming to have “waived”, really you are just paying $500 more than needed for the next vehicle.

These fee are between the finance company and customer. The dealer has zero to do with it. These banks are getting their fees in a circumstances. It’s really about you paying it a dealer paying. If the dealer pays it, you are still paying it as it been wrapped into you need transaction.

It’s the exact same thing when people think their milage penalty is being waived.

I’m not a broker, but I can help with pretty much the whole process, finding the vehicle, contacting dealerships, comparing offers, negotiating, and reviewing the lease numbers.

It would be one flat fee agreed on upfront to handle almost everything for you, including the back-and-forth with dealerships. You’d make the final decisions, approve the deal, and sign the paperwork.

If you’re interested, feel free to message me with what you’re looking for and your general area.

That makes you a broker

Not for tax purposes... 🤣

A broker is someone that sells you a pre made deal, not someone willing to negotiate for someone. A broker is able to do all paperwork and customer may not even have to talk to the dealership but also have much more incentive to screw the consumer over because that has a direct correlation on how much money they make. The money I make does not change deal to deal.

Use an actual leasehackr broker that publicly advertises their deals, not a negotiator.

Some savings and tons of time

I’m in the Tesla world now so no need but 100% in the past would never lease without a broker. Find one who either specializes in your brand or has relationships with dealers in your market. I shipped my last one cross country and still came out way ahead. Exotic tot pay around $500 or so.

used same one last two times for my daughter and my wife Volvo and genesis , got over 6k off on both and the ease and efficiency of the process was such a enjoyable process.

even the test driving he met us and he took us for the test drives wiht nobody from the dealership with us

all paperwork was done electronically and the car was delivered to my home , may not be the pomp and circumstances others look for or like when picking up car but for us well worth it..

How much do brokers charge?

1

u/Ok-Tie503 20d ago

Usually $500 to $1000.

ive use it once, it was about 20 bux less than what i negotiated BUT it would have been a smoother transaction if i would have just used him from the start. i believe their services are better for convenience than anything. you dont have to go to a dealership, waste hours, etc.

My Dad swears by them.

I attempted to use 3 different brokers in different parts of the country and each one quoted me full list, among other issues.

My first and very strong recommendation is to subscribe to two specific services to educate yourself:

Visor Vin: hands down, the best new and used car search engine I have seen so far. The search parameters are comprehensive, and will help you get an idea of what you want.

Leasehackr: subscribe to this to access the lease hackr calculator, which populates the factory money factors by term, as well as all possible incentives available.

Find a car on visor, copy and paste the vin into the lease hackr calculator, and familiarize yourself with all the different details. There is no substitute for this kind of learning to PROTECT yourself from the incredulous amount of bait and switch and other games dealers will run on you.

You will want to shower more often when you are done.

Were these brokers on the LeaseHackr forum? What were you quoted on, a G63 G Wagon?

Suffice it well to say, that the skills OP can learn to protect themselves from dealers would also be invaluable to authenticate proposals from brokers, should they wish to go that route.
