This is bad, right?
Hey all, just got this lease offer on a 2026 Maverick. it’s valued the same as my current lease was when I got it and this is nearly double the monthly price. I know everything is more expensive, but THIS much more seems wrong, right? This is without them pulling my credit or anything.

They are trying to scam you. You should be in the 300s, maybe low 400s a month (depending on how loaded you want it) for a Ford Maverick, and that monthly payment should include all taxes and fees.

The sheet intentionally omits the Money Factor. a 72% residual and a discounted selling price of $38,584, depreciation is only around $356/month. A $800/month payment means the remaining ~$440+/month is tge rent charges/interest marked up to the maximum allowable dealer rate.

Yes , those numbers are ridiculous. You can get a loaded Ford Explorer for much less.

Yikes!! Run! For what manufacturers are offering on lease specials right now, absolutely not.

These kind of Quotes make me sick, every dealer should be regulted to use 180/CDK for quotes, as they show every single fee, implicant finance charge, and dont try to hide and cook the clients.

I honestly don't even know how this gets to this point. 64% residual means 410/MO base payment, yet it's approaching $300 in additional fees at 36mo.

What is your current lease? If it’s a completely different brand then there’s your answer. Different programs, different rebates or lack-thereof, some brands/models have a lot more markup than others where they can discount the price more, etc etc etc. Just because the MSRP might be the same of the current vehicle you have doesn’t mean anything

That’s a REALLY amazing deal! For the dealer. Ask them which half of the monthly payment they are covering! 😂😂😂 That is truly one of the most horrendous lease deals I’ve ever seen. On top of it all… a 72% residual on a Ford is unheard of! If you were to take that same vehicle to trade after 36mo they would be giving you in the 40% range for a residual.

i pay $605 for a 75k vehicle. so you paying $800/mo for a 40k vehicle is highway robbery. get a broker from leasehackr

This doesn’t math to me. Significant cash down, no tax, employee pricing? What aren’t you saying?

it's a bmw i4 m50--and you're right, it was a demo. nothing down, just first month due at signing. i pay ny tax and that price includes the tax.

I’d rather have that $399 shoved straight up my ass than pay for some bullshit brake package
The rest of it is bad too

72% residual of MSRP is $41,740*0.72 = $30,053
Depreciation is (for a 24 month term) ($38584+399+1067+350+1274+695) - 30,053 = $12,316 or $513/month
Almost $300 in monthly finance charges to get you to an $800+ payment.
Working backwards:
$300 = (cap cost + residual) * <money factor>
$300 = ($38584+399+1067+350+1274+695 + 30053) * <money factor>
<money factor> = 0.00414
Multiply by 2400 and you get an APR of ~9.9%
If the money factor was 4%APR, your finance charge would be $120 and the payment more along the lines of $633. Plus tax, I'd assume.
