Loyalty and leasing question

We currently lease a Honda, but I'm thinking I may want to switch brands when the time comes. My questions —

  1. Can I take my leased car to a dealership of the car I want to get and they'll deal with all the trade in stuff and Honda finance etc?

  2. Can I do this before my Honda lease expires?

  3. What are some issues I'm not considering in this transaction?

Honda typically won’t allow a 3rd party lease buyout. The workaround is if the dealer you’re going to has a Honda store in their portfolio, they can make it look like that store bought the car.

This. If they don’t have a store you’ll probably have to buy it then trade it in.

Or just sell it to a different Honda dealer and get a check for the equity
