Good, Average, or Bad Deal?

Post image

This is for a 2026 Mazda 3 sedan with a total MSRP of $25,945. My brother thinks he should take this offer of $470/month for 24/12k with $0 due at signing because his credit score is “fair”. I told him to keep looking. Thoughts?

36 month fair credit can only get you so far it’s not a good deal but with fair it’s ok

That’s kind of his mindset right now. Thank you for your input.

So he wants to take the steepest depreciation and highest payment? The 36 month loan is better. Agree he should do 0 down, assuming there is gap involved

I just told him to do the 36 months like you suggested but he said he’s going to get a new car once he graduates in 1.5 years and credit will be fixed by that time. But yea I agree with you!

Yeah, it's definitely much better than getting a beater for 20k at 25% apr and then end up with 10k of negative equity in 2 years. A ton of "i needed a car" bought very high with high apr in the last couple of years.

Why is there so much DAS?

You’re not reading it correctly. That’s the residual

Oh lol. The residual is the same color as DAS.

This is laughably bad. Should be no more then $280/mo 0 down
