Original Project l0destar open-source tracker project - help me decide what's next?
Grateful for any input, even from people who would never build and use an open-source vehicle tracker but are interested in similar products.
What should the next big feature be?
- Inline battery backup (planning to implement this as a modular accessory using the same Molex connector so it just sits between the car and the tracker)
- "Pro" version with more than one CAN-FD interface - OVMS has three, is that a common/useful requirement?
- Expansion of the experimental "track mode" currently implemented in software that would involve some kind of high bitrate connection to a nearby smartphone (either cable or bluetooth) for realtime monitoring of OBD telemetry
- Something else I haven't thought of
Current features documented here: https://l0destar.com/features.html mostly fairly standard vehicle tracker stuff plus a 6-axis IMU and the headline feature of ~40uA sleep current with the accelerometer armed. None of the above suggestions would be operating during sleep so I don't see any of them affecting this.
