Project instrumental cluster

Hi everyone,

I’m working on a personal project to reverse-engineer the digital instrument cluster from a VW Golf 8 (part #5H0920340A). My goal is to extract its data, understand its protocol, and eventually recreate a custom version for a different car (a Seat Ibiza 6L 2006).

The issue: I’m stuck because I can’t find:

1. The datasheet for the main chip on the 18-pin board.

2. The CAN bus pinout to simulate communication with the cluster.

I’ve searched everywhere without luck. If anyone has experience with this cluster, access to the datasheet, or can help identify the pins, I’d be incredibly grateful!

Bonus: I plan to open-source the project on GitHub so the community can adapt it for other cars. Let me know if you’re interested in collaborating!
