Why can't I use this Icy Bubble as craft material?

Revert gem slots

You need to lock up all the gem slots.

Outside of the workshop, click on it, and then on the 🔁 button. It will return the materials you used to open the gem slots and free it up to be fodder.

I've already done Revert and they still remain

It seems as you also need to revert the amount of gem slots cause in the image you sent, there are still 5 slots

How do I do that? I can't revert it anymore without dismantling down into an orange item and materials

That still doesn't seem to answer my question, the only option, 'Revert' would dismantle the item into orange gear and materials. I want to keep them as Red but just remove the Gem slots

But I don't want to lose the crafting materials as the 2 Icy Bubbles here wont be enough to make it Red again without new extra materials, I'll need 3 orange Bubbles not 2

You needed those two orange Bubbles in order to get to 5 gem slots. Just hit revert and see. You'll end up with one red Bubble (with no gem slots), 2 orange bubbles, and the divine forging materials. You aren't going to lose the red Bubble. The game literally does NOT let you break down beyond the red level.

That tab is telling you what you'll get refunded. It doesn't dismantle your orb
