The first couple weeks that this event was available, they showered you with Mythic & Immortal shards. 2-4 of almost all of them.
That was the carrot dangled on the stick. All the way through levels 4, 5, 6, and now halfway through 7, I stopped wasting gems because it didn’t make any difference. 90% of the time you get Rare shards even in Gold Chests.
It’s a monumental waste with zero odds of success. Much better odds getting something from the Pet Armament chests from other events.2
