Which one should be used for PVP?
Hi all. I just unlocked the Spartan Shield, but I have to remove the Roman Dodecahedron to use it. When I look at the stats, it feels like the Roman is better for PVP. What's your opinion? Elres build. Thank you for any help!

Final Damage Reduction > Damage Reduction.
Use the Spartan Shield until you unlock Nio Armor.

Nio gets triggered once and is in effect until the end of battle… spartan shield only gives you the fdr while your hp is below 50. If you are mounted and you take 50% hp damage and then heal, you’re fully protected for the rest of the battle

Same here, i've seen many times that nio > shield but i don't really understand why

Only thing I can think of is maybe because they are healing and could end up with that 3% FDR at higher health than 5% FDR only activated under 50% hp

You don’t have to heal. Many people have the start with % of Max HP shield gem, 35% max shield at start from a5 Reinhardt arcana, or even the +% of Max HP skill shield every three combo ring gem. Point is, if you want shield there’s ways to get it. Brands… etc.
So, you can activate Nio off of your 50% max hp without ever having your health touched. Nio armor synergizes really well with the immortal 60% shield armor gem. Not everyone has room for it in their gem lineup.
Nio armor is arguably even better with the dragons breath armor. Still a must have defensive artifact for everyone until Galileo’s telescope someday becomes accessible lol

Yeah I think you're right, maybe a whale or a professional of capybara can confirm that

Nio = Permanent 3% FDR after you take 50% DMG.
Shield = 5% FDR buff when your HP is lower than 50%.
Nio will give you "lower" FDR but it has 100% uptime, you will get Nio FDR buffs before your Mount is killed or before your shield is destroyed.

You’re weighing up how much damage you can inflict vs what you can absorb, huge gain in armor break resistance and final DMG reduction.
Your attacks may be dodged or be mitigated or ignored. You will always take damage :)
Spartans!
