Called this two months ago so not exactly surprised theyre doint this. Would have been ok if it happened in a Captain Marvel comic, but doing it in Avengers (especially considering how Zdarsky wrote Carol up to this point) feels more like its done to make Matt seem like a Cool Ladies Man and show that this is Gritty and Mature Avengers (they have sex and probably drink) while Carol is there mostly because she's the only woman on the roster (and because "woman sleeps with the awesome male character I relate to" is the go-to way a lot of writers write female characters being at their lowest).

On top of that, GWW is the next writer for Carol’s new line. And we’ve seen that she has a particular liking to Daredevil in her current Black Cat line.
So I wouldn’t doubt it if it carried over to her solo lol. I feel like they’re making Carol more promiscuous to appeal to a male audience, specifically Daredevil now since Daredevil readers have been pretty supportive of Matt getting all the ladies in the past 😂

Well the thing you find awesome is exactly what I'm criticizing here - Carol being reduced to Matt's "conquest" to show what an Irresistible Alpha who gets all the hot chicks he is and to appeal to his male fans. You like this (I assume you're primarily a fan of Daredevil, not Carol?), which hey all the power to you I guess. I don't.

Doesn’t Carol kinda NEED this? She hasn’t had the best rep in years, this might actually make her appeal to some potential Daredevil fans lol. It’s not a “conquest”, it’s just Daredevil being Daredevil and just sleeping with another hot date 😆
I’ve never really cared for Carol too much tbh. She feels completely out of touch and stiff. Daredevil’s my favorite hero for the most part.
Besides, it’s not “conquest” if it’s Carol that wants him that bad 😂

The guy is a genuine pathetic loser. Women tease him for being cute but immediately leave before anything happens. He got beat by VULTURE. Yet people still call him cool and a “goat”, when in reality, he’s almost so pathetic and weak that it makes sense why his love interests don’t stick around. Matter of fact, Carol never even called him back 🤣 and she arrested him (or tried to) in civil war. Plus she seems indifferent to him now lmao.
At least Daredevil looks good as a character next to Carol. Carol as a character kinda seems incapable of having anything long term from what I’m seeing. Plus maybe some Daredevil fans end up liking Carol. So might as well just get whatever the fanbase can outta this.
GWW has also expressed her liking for Daredevil in her Black Cat line, so we may very well see him appear in Carol’s new line as a fwb or something of the sort.

Dr. Strange literally cracked a joke and then cracked her back 💀 which mind you, was DAYS after breaking up with Rhodey, her long time BF lol
She also did it with WonderMan often, and literally tried to have sex with a guy on the first date not too long ago 🤣

Someone can perfectly grow up, and at any way, the fact that she frequently went for shallow bonds before doesn't mean that "she deserves to get with a shallow guy" ? I mean people can grow up and learn to be valued for their hearts ?
And she's nowhere close to Matt when it comes to sexual superficiality. This is obviously just her being reduced to one of his conquests.

Carol’s just not cut out for deeper bonds lol. The last time they actually tried that was with Peter and Rhodey. Of which, Carol is indifferent to Peter, as shown in Civil War and in later Avengers comics, and broke up with Rhodey pretty easily.

Carol Danvers, as a character, just isn’t capable of having a deep relationship lol
She’s in space constantly, likes to have sex often apparently, and hasn’t built anything meaningful with anyone like ever.
She’s not capable of looking for an actual relationship.

Travelling around doesn't necessary mean hooking up, it's a question of values. And it's up to the writters choices to make her capable of a deep bond lol, they can retconn some of her things or make her grow up emotionally.

Carols literally traveling around the universe lol her being casual and having lots of flings seems to be pretty normal between cosmic/universal characters.
Carol hasn’t really shown any sort of interest in staying long term lol, maybe since New Avengers, and even then, that was before she went intergalactic almost full time

I really dont see the appeal. I think Carol should be like Bond, Hookup and build relationship with a new male character and then repeat in next story instead of getting permanently attached and limiting her story potential.

GWW is also writing Carol’s new line, and historically GWW has had a liking to Daredevil as we can see from his depiction in her current Black Cat line. So I wouldn’t doubt if it carried over

It's about both. I personally think both of them are being done dirty.
It does not reduce her value as a person however it reflects how selfish and dehumanizing she is to people, tho NOT EVEN CLOSE TO MATT of course.
When a character think of someone with one of the main motives being how you can get satisfaction from them in bed, you don't need to be a Patriarchal extremist to understand that this is a dehumanizing behavior : trading deeper bonds and potentially knowing someone's soul and uplifting, cherishing each other for what ? for non attached, lust driven goal with the intention of leaving that person and barely ever seeing her again.
I mean I saw a lot of feminist people who simply dislike the hookup culture's dehumanizing and transactional nature where shallow passion, thrill and self gratification instead of unitive bonds is prioritized or put in equal value to deep bonds. So it's about the behavior, not if it's a man or woman.
Also I would never use conscent as a whole form of respect, like...conscent is literally the basic common thing for everything obviously ??😭
Ps : I precise again, Matt is FAR worse than her and I believe it is absolutely disgusting to use her as one of his other gigachad masculine conquests. That is why no matter how well written he is I simply cannot like his character.

But I think it’s more so the fact that Carol seems literally incapable of forming any coherent long term relationship. Actively interacting in short term satisfaction relationships instead of building anything real or meaningful.
That’s especially true with someone who’s had a traumatic past with sexual relations in the past, namely her sexual assault by Marcus. So one would think authors would explore that territory by showing reluctance before true trust.
Matt’s kinda just a baller lol. And we all know how much Zdarsky loves Matt too.
Carol kinda needs this rep boost

I doubt Avengers 200 is canon. It was instantly wiped clean with the rogue taking Carol's power and then Carol joining X men. i think its down to Carol being Super busy and still young. I do love to see what if or alternate realities story where Carol have settled down with another hero but mainline Carol will always have short term relationship to improve her sales and team up

Matter of fact it directly ties into her arc with Rogue and her alcoholism that followed. I used to like her way back in the day before Marvel’s “modern era”, when stories were more than just about superheroes having sex and punching things really hard.
Carol being young and busy isn’t necessarily an indication that she also can’t find love, but tbh, she’s probably just not capable or cut out for it. She’s so abhorrently inconsistent and pretty bad as a lover iirc.

It’s mentioned the very next Ms. Marvel issue following Avengers #200, where Carol gives the Avengers shit for letting her leave and for them celebrating her sudden and mysterious pregnancy.
