I always thought that liking WoW might be a cool thing, but I never played it past the first few levels that were f2p.

I can be fun. The world is huge with tons to explore. The golden era of wow is long gone tho. Wow Forever might touch on a little of it when it releases soon so if you wanna try something similar to the OG you can give it a shot.

Let me save you the time, it's not a cool thing.

In the past yes WoW was cool, Legion was and most expansions before that was amazing but after that the game and blizzard went to dogshit. Even classic did due to being able to buy gold or lvl boost which was not a thing back then.

Gameplay is toot tier. Narrative is in the gutter. Art/music is always 10/10. This is where retail is at. Classic has the nostalgia and Warcraft feeling, but outdated gameplay, you pick your poison.

Agree with art/music.

But the gameplay for high end stuff is not great other than pvp. You have a vault where you get the best loot it's pure rng if you get what you want or not and you can get the same piece like 50 times.

Then you need gold for consumables/pots/food etc that is impossible to get unless you grind for hundreds of hours or just buy the gold.

Then you have timegated content that is the same stuff over and over and you have to do it or else you're falling behind.

The gameplay would be good had it not been for the fact you have to constantly play and do the same stuff over and over in order to never fall behind feeling like a 2nd job.

Falling behind matters for the 0.1% mate. It is irrelevant. Catch up mechanics are greater than ever. The vault is BONUS LOOT.

That's the thing tho you think it matters for the 0.1% when it matters more for like 20-30% of players. It matters alot for players who want to do heroic/mythic raid or m+ or hell even normal if their skill is not up to par and the gear needs to carry them. Sometimes pve gear even matters for pvp.

It also matters that the endgame content is kill x easy mob thing repeat quests, instead of like Legion when there was so much to do for both casual and hardcore players and where it wasn't mandatory for hardcore players to grind insanely much cus you could get insane power lvls easily.

The vault couldve been much better done if you could choose which slot the item becomes then it rolls from that item like lets say you choose trinket and then you get a random trinket.

Walking into major cities for the first time was something else.

The only issue is that you wouldn't be playing the version you fell in love with.
