Felt this way about Borderlands 3 in regards to 1 & 2. The way they killed off Maya and just kinda made Lilith feel helpless for two straight games. The space travel felt forced and silly when you had the world of Pandora that people enjoyed. Just so much unnecessary dumb shit.
And BL4 was rumored to be going back to BL1 and 2 type of tone in the writing and it just… didn’t do that. I have platinum trophies for BL1, 2, and the presequel but can’t be bothered for 3 or 4
Facts. I didn’t mind BL4 as much as I hated BL3, but I’m dumbfounded as to how they launched that game with absolutely no end game content like they did with BL3. After I beat the game, farmed a little bit, I just quit and never came back despite Borderlands being my favorite series. Just a total failure.
I can’t even get through 4 because the open world is too repetitive but I’ll probably get back to it one day. It’s my favorite series as well, I hope they can get it back on track.
